Davies seniors named 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholars

Two seniors from Davies High School have been named U.S. Presidential Scholars.

According to a news release from the Department of Education, Maneesh Apti and Anjali Lall were two of 141 from across the U.S., Puerto Rico and abroad selected for the honor, which is based on their academic success, artistic excellence, essays, school evaluations and transcripts, as well as evidence of community service, leadership, and demonstrated commitment to high ideals. Over 3,300 students qualified for this year’s award based on their SAT and ACT exam performance. Maneesh and Anjali are the sole recipients from the state of North Dakota.

The 2013 ceremony will be held June 16 in Washington, DC, where each honoree will receive a Presidential Scholar Medallion.
