Mural project joins Red River Zoo, MSUM with Kennedy students
Kennedy Elementary students have been busy the past several days in a joint art project, a large mural, with MSUM Art Education students and the Red River Zoo.
The piece, which wraps around walls at the school, features imagery of zoo animals and the word “Welcome” in 32 different languages painted by the MSUM artists. It also features a 34-panel, pattern mosaic with geometric shapes and sponged-on accents created by all of the elementary students and Zoo representatives.
Installation of the mural begins this week, with the unveiling scheduled to take place at the school’s Multicultural Art Night event on Thursday, March 21.
