The Davies High School Performing Arts Department will present 4 shows of its inaugural musical production, “Little Shop of Horrors,” beginning tonight, Thursday, Nov. 3. Performances run nightly at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 5, and finish with a Sunday, Nov. 6, matinee at 2:00 p.m.
The Davies production follows the 1982 off-Broadway rock musical version of composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood.
Sixty-five students are members of the cast, music, and technical teams for the Little Shop production. Students built the “plants” for the show; the largest one takes eight students to move all of its mechanical parts.
Ticket sales are moving quickly; they can be reserved by calling the Davies box office at 446-5768. Tickets are $8.00 for adults; $6.00 for students and seniors. All unpaid tickets must be picked up 30 minutes prior to each performance.
