The District announces the assignments of two elementary principals for Bennett and Lincoln Elementaries. These assignments supplement and conclude a placement process for four elementary schools that took place in late spring. The assignments are as follows:
Current Lincoln Elementary principal Manix Zepeda will assume the top leadership post at Bennett Elementary, replacing Vicky Stormoe, who retired in June. Mr. Zepeda began his teaching career with the Fargo Public Schools in 1997 at Lincoln, as a fourth grade teacher. He proceeded to teach at Centennial and Carl Ben Eielson Elementaries before becoming the principal at Horace Mann in 2004.
Zepeda is a graduate of Valley City State University. He holds a masters degree from NDSU.
Mr. Zepeda will be replaced at Lincoln by new principal Jennifer Schuldheisz. Ms. Schuldheisz is a familiar face in the Lincoln community, having served her entire career there. In 1995, she joined Lincoln staff as a special education teacher, and later taught 4th and 5th grades. Her past two years have included positions as a Title I reading teacher and student performance strategist.
Schuldheisz is a graduate of Moorhead State University. She holds a masters degree from Minot State University.
Zepeda and Schuldheisz join principals Jerry Hanson (Kennedy Elementary), Eric Henrickson (Longfellow) and Bobby Olson (Madison) as the newest leaders of the Districts elementary communities.
To provide training and experience for teachers who aspire to become an administrator and to provide student support in our largest elementary schools, the following staff have been assigned to a teacher-on-special-assignment position: Becky Folden (Clara Barton-Hawthorne), Cheryl Janssen (Centennial), and Jill Gress (Bennett). In addition, current Assistant Principal Matt Naugle has been assigned to Kennedy Elementary.
