Superintendent Rick Buresh spends a moment visiting with Lincoln's young (and future) artists during the April event.

Last month, students at Lincoln Elementary added a humanitarian twist to their annual Art Night event.  A family event, it features art-related activities and music in a showcase of student talent.

For 2011, the students decided to structure Art Night so that it would raise money for the F-M Humane Society, with donations for activities and art for-sale.

The event and effort by students, staff and Lincoln families, dubbed “Pictures for Pets,” ultimately raised $1,217 for the Society. Last week,  the school’s 5th grade art club and its advisor, Art Specialist Mary Dalzell, presented Humane Society Director Nukhet Hendricks with a donation and oversized display check.
